Our Process

A structured path to perfected gardens in Doncaster

We follow a rigorous architectural process to ensure every garden we design in Doncaster is not only beautiful but buildable and sustainable across South Yorkshire.

01

Initial Consultation

Our process begins with an initial consultation to explore the garden and how you would like the space to develop. During this stage we walk through the site and discuss the ideas that could shape the future direction of the garden. The consultation explores how the garden is currently used, considering how different areas of the space may change and how the layout could improve everyday use. Practical aspects of the site are also considered so that the project develops as a clear and realistic direction rather than a collection of separate ideas. The result is a clear understanding of the garden and the ambitions for the project, helping guide the next stages of our process.

02

Design Proposal

Following the consultation stage, the project moves into the design proposal stage. During this phase the ideas discussed earlier are organised into a clear direction that shapes how the project will move forward. The proposal process helps define the overall design approach, considering layout ideas, project scope, planning requirements, and the key features that may form part of the garden. Materials, structural elements, and broader planting concepts are also discussed to ensure the project develops with clarity and consistency from the very beginning. The result is a carefully structured proposal that provides a clear foundation for the garden and guides the next stages of the design process.

Garden Design & Masterplan

Once the proposal has been agreed, the project moves into the garden design stage. During this phase the ideas discussed earlier are developed into a clear layout that shapes how the garden will function and feel. The design process explores how different areas of the garden can work together, considering circulation, seating spaces, planting areas, and key focal points within the landscape. Materials, structural features, and planting concepts are also considered so that the garden develops as a cohesive outdoor space rather than a collection of separate elements. The result is a carefully considered masterplan that provides a clear vision for the garden and guides the next stages of the project.

Garden Installation

Once the design has been finalised, the project moves into the garden installation stage. During this phase the plans developed earlier are carefully implemented on site to bring the garden layout to life. The installation stage introduces the structural elements of the garden, including patios, pathways, steps, and other features that shape how the space will function and be experienced. Planting, lawns, and finishing details are then introduced to soften the structure and create a natural balance between built elements and living areas within the garden. The result is a completed garden that reflects the original design vision while providing a practical and welcoming outdoor space for everyday enjoyment.

The Finished Garden

Once installation is complete, the garden begins its life as a finished outdoor space. Structural elements, planting, and layout come together to create an environment that feels balanced, functional, and ready to enjoy. At this stage we walk through the completed garden together, ensuring every part of the project reflects the design vision and that you are fully satisfied with the finished result. As planting establishes and develops over time, the garden continues to evolve while maintaining the overall character and structure that shaped the original design. The result is a carefully completed garden that feels natural, welcoming, and designed to be enjoyed for many years to come.

Don't just take our word for it, hear from our satisfied clients across Doncaster.

We loved the fabulous feature garden at the RHS show at Wentworth Woodhouse today. The shapes, textures, colours, just perfect. Also great to chat to the designer, Richard, an absolutely lovely gentleman and local to us in Doncaster. Gets a gold medal from us!
